About the book
A garden gnome explodes and then a dog disappears inside a house. When Arthur, Ren, and Cecily rescue the dog and investigate, they find themselves sucked into a portal that takes them to the year 2473. A trial is on for a new kind of computer game – one that people can walk directly into and become characters. In order to get home, the children need to find the only person who can mend their game key. The trouble is he hasn’t been seen in years. The children have 53 hours until they are deleted as anomalies – and therefore from existence.
The game begins. Think puzzles and racing and characters from every part of history brought back to life. Wonderscape allows players to virtually experience the most exciting and incredible parts of history by completing challenges in different realms.
By introducing different characters from history, the story teaches its main characters some important lessons. For this wonderful blog tour, I was asked to think of two heroes – one from history and one from the modern day. I chose two women whose work has inspired me in different ways, both as a writer and as a human being. It is my hope that by sharing what I have learned, other people will think on these matters too.
